Desarrollador Backend Senior, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient backend services.

• Define and implement best practices for architecture, security, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Create and execute optimized APIs and data models, as well as manage integrations with third-party services and internal systems.

• Implement unit and integration tests, actively participate in code reviews, and uphold code quality.

• Automate CI/CD pipelines, assist in deployments, and respond to incidents in production environments.

• Mentor junior and semi-senior developers while promoting continuous improvement within the team.

• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and QA to deliver user-centered and operable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience developing backend applications in production environments.

• Proven experience in programming with Java and strong knowledge of the JVM ecosystem.

• Solid understanding of backend frameworks and technologies: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST and/or gRPC APIs, along with serialization formats (JSON, Protobuf).

• Advanced experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis), including modeling and query optimization.

• Knowledge of distributed architectures: microservices, messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ), resilience patterns, and observability.

• Experience in automated testing (unit and integration) and best practices for code quality and CI/CD.

• Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployments (preferably AWS).

• Intermediate English proficiency (ability to read technical documentation in English).

• Experience with monitoring and tracing tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) is a plus.

• Knowledge of security applied to APIs and services is an advantage.

• Experience integrating or consuming Artificial Intelligence or ML models in backend services is desirable.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams.
