This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior legal advisor to business and legal executives concerning government contracting, technology, regulatory, commercial, data, cybersecurity, and risk issues.
• Create practical legal frameworks for the responsible application of AI, robotics, data, and cutting-edge technologies.
• Establish procedures for the negotiation, administration, and compliance of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracts.
• Provide guidance on intricate commercial transactions, customer agreements, regulatory requirements, and technology-driven business models.
• Identify and mitigate legal and business risks while facilitating growth and operational stability.
• Spearhead business transformation projects that involve legal and contracting processes, governance, prioritization, and operational methodologies.
• Collaborate with commercial, compliance, technology, EHS, finance, operations, regional legal teams, and external counsel.
• Mentor and cultivate legal talent in a global, matrixed environment.
• Advise on complex legal matters related to evolving U.S. and non-U.S. customer transactions.
• Collaborate with the General Counsel – Power, acting as a servant leader to the Power Legal Leadership Team.
• Define, evaluate, and promote organizational goals and objectives, including budget-related matters.
• Partner with Power Legal Regional and Business General Counsels on relevant transactions.
• Assist in managing the legal budget and overseeing outside counsel expenditures.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law.
• Extensive experience advising large or complex organizations on government contracting, commercial, regulatory, technology, data, cybersecurity, or emerging technology issues.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in a global law firm or large corporate in-house legal department.
• Familiarity with U.S. government contracts, including negotiation, administration, compliance, or risk management.
• Strong grasp of legal and regulatory matters associated with AI, data governance, cross-border data transfer, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies.
• Excellent business judgment and the capability to balance legal risks with business priorities, regulatory obligations, and reputational factors.
• Proficient in advising senior leaders, influencing stakeholders, and providing clear recommendations in complex, time-sensitive scenarios.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate with integrity, discretion, and accountability.
