This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a senior legal consultant to business and legal executives regarding government contracting, technology, regulatory issues, commercial matters, data, cybersecurity, and risk management.

• Create actionable legal guidance for the ethical utilization of AI, robotics, data, and innovative technologies.

• Establish uniform procedures for the negotiation, administration, and compliance of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracts.

• Provide counsel on intricate commercial transactions, customer contracts, regulatory responsibilities, and technology-driven business models.

• Recognize and mitigate legal and business risks while facilitating growth, operational sustainability, and informed decision-making.

• Spearhead business transformation projects by enhancing legal and contracting processes, governance structures, prioritization, and collaborative workflows.

• Collaborate with teams in commercial, compliance, technology, EHS, finance, operations, regional legal, and external counsel.

• Guide and nurture legal talent within a global, matrixed framework.

• Offer advice on complex legal matters involving both U.S. and international customer transactions.

• Collaborate with the General Counsel – Power and act as a servant leader to the Power Legal Leadership Team.

• Define, assess, and promote organizational goals and objectives, including budget considerations.

• Work alongside Power Legal Regional and Business General Counsels on relevant transactions.

• Assist in managing the legal budget and overseeing outside counsel expenditures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.

• Active license to practice law.

• Extensive experience advising a large or intricate organization on government contracting, commercial, regulatory, technology, data, cybersecurity, or emerging technology issues.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a global law firm or major corporate in-house legal department.

• Proficiency with U.S. government contracts, encompassing negotiation, administration, compliance, or risk management.

• Strong grasp of legal and regulatory challenges associated with AI, data governance, cross-border data transfer, cybersecurity, or other emerging technologies.

• Sound business acumen and the ability to balance legal risks, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and reputational factors.

• Capability to advise senior executives, influence stakeholders, and provide clear recommendations in complex and time-sensitive scenarios.

• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to operate with integrity, discretion, and accountability.

• Legal leadership experience in a global industrial, energy, infrastructure, government-facing, or highly regulated organization.

• Experience in advising on AI, robotics, data, cybersecurity, or other emerging technology challenges.

• Proven track record of enhancing legal processes, governance, contracting practices, or technology-related compliance initiatives.

• Strong commercial insight and the ability to facilitate business growth, integration, or transformation.

• Ability to cultivate trust with senior leaders, clients, government officials, regulators, business partners, and external counsel.

• Practical, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to simplify complex issues and support sound decision-making.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
