📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of a public opinion research initiative that entails regular surveys and focus groups, collaborating with partners to identify communication and information needs, and working with the DCC’s research vendor and Communication Director to create research that addresses those requirements.

• Supervise the design and presentation of regular briefings on the DCC’s research and associated communication strategies to partners and field allies.

• Assist in the practical application of research findings by DCC Partners, analyzing results, disseminating findings, and aiding Partners in integrating those insights into their activities.

• Collaborate with the Communication Director to craft messaging and communication strategies that deliver both strategic and tactical insights to a diverse field.

• Lead the forthcoming email initiative for the DCC, preparing a weekly newsletter that communicates and clarifies DCC research and messaging, illustrates content amplification examples, and highlights effective communication efforts from the field.

• Support the team in onboarding, assisting, and organizing a broad and diverse coalition of organizations and stakeholders.

• Facilitate coordinated audience-first communication campaigns led by DCC Partners, providing expert guidance and resources.

• Stay informed about current events and discussions in communications and the wider democracy field.

• Attend to internal administrative tasks (e.g., emails/slack, timekeeping, expenses, HR).

• Participate in internal activities (i.e., full team meetings, peer learning communities, culture-building activities, and regular supervision check-ins).

• Engage in professional development and learning opportunities for both individuals and the team.

• Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience, including a background in developing and executing communication campaigns.

• Exceptional project management and interpersonal abilities.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the capability to lead both large and small planning sessions and training sessions.

• A thorough understanding of the contemporary American political, news, and content landscape.

• An organized self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Candidates must be comfortable collaborating with individuals holding differing viewpoints, be transparent about their own beliefs without being constrained by them, and be committed to fostering connections and finding common ground.

• Willingness to engage in limited travel (up to 15%) for client-related activities and team retreats.
