Deputy Chief Information Security Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• You will serve as the second-in-command to the CISO and take ownership of the bank-entity scope within Mercury's 2LOD Information Security program.

• Maintain a program that is always ready for examination by ensuring a coherent policy framework and documented controls.

• Take charge of the narrative prepared for examiners and manage the documentation for inquiries from OCC, FFIEC, FDIC, and FRB examiners.

• Lead the remediation efforts for any identified FFIEC IT control deficiencies to guarantee charter readiness.

• Cultivate relationships with internal audit teams and external assessors.

• Mentor and develop the GRC sub-team while implementing a regular training schedule.

• Ensure that third-party risk evidence meets stringent bank-grade standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Information Security.

• A minimum of 3 years working within a regulated bank, trust bank, or during a de novo bank charter initiative.

• Profound knowledge of FFIEC and OCC regulations.

• Experience directly interacting with examiners.

• Expertise in crafting policies and standards.

• Strong operational discipline.

• Instinct for second line of defense (2LOD) practices.

• CISSP, CISM, or CRISC certification is preferred.
