This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Construct and set up shared and client-specific environments for production, non-production, and disaster recovery.
• Carry out server installations, configurations, deployments, and operating system upgrades utilizing Microsoft technologies.
• Implement SQL Server database backups and restores, oversee user permissions, and deploy T-SQL scripts.
• Administer Active Directory users, groups, delegation, and domain environments.
• Direct server and application migrations while minimizing downtime and enhancing performance.
• Create PowerShell scripts and system reports using SQL Report Builder.
• Assess, analyze, and facilitate the resolution of intricate technical issues across various applications and platforms.
• Offer technical guidance and support to client IT teams, including after-hours assistance during critical releases and peak periods.
• Generate and uphold technical documentation and service catalogs.
• Ensure compliance with security and performance standards.
• Collaborate with client IT teams on decisions regarding infrastructure, migrations, modernization initiatives, releases, and go-lives.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years of pertinent infrastructure and systems administration experience.
• Practical experience with Windows Server 2012–2019, including installation, configuration, management, and IIS.
• Proficient SQL Server management skills, including T-SQL and SSRS.
• Knowledge of database backup/restore, user permissions, and script deployment.
• Advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with VBScript, CMD, and SQL scripting.
• Familiarity with Active Directory or LDAP in domain environments.
• Understanding of N-Tier applications utilizing IIS, .NET services, and SQL Server.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure, including Storage, ASG, VMs, and Azure DB.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and approach problems systematically.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to articulate complex technical solutions to a diverse audience.
• Knowledge of Octopus Deploy or Azure DevOps Pipeline is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure Serverless, Azure Container Instance, Kubernetes, and Docker is desirable.
• Awareness of AWS and Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, or Kanban is beneficial.
• Practical experience or working knowledge of .NET development using VB.Net or C# is a plus.
• Proficiency in English is required for Quebec candidates when interacting regularly in English or using English applications/software.
• Successful completion of the Government of Canada Personnel Security Screening may be required as a condition of employment for relevant data-center/client-service roles.
