Department Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee and monitor all ongoing projects within the department to ensure timely execution that aligns with client specifications and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards.

• Manage the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for clients, ensuring accurate scoping of services, manpower availability, and pricing to achieve the intended profitability.

• Direct the daily operations of the department, including staff training, development, and performance evaluations, as well as the utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and deliverables, prompt service delivery, and compliance with policies and procedures.

• Strategize and engage in business development initiatives to identify, nurture, secure, and execute project opportunities while fostering and maintaining client relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline relevant to the Firm, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, accompanied by 8 years of professional experience.

• Alternatively, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.

• A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

• Prior supervisory experience is required.

• A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be necessary.

• Certification or licensure in the area of expertise is preferred.

• Status as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer is preferred.
