Deal Operations Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the pricing and deal structure for intricate enterprise agreements, providing real-time advice to sales on commercial aspects and trade-offs to facilitate progress towards closing deals.

• Collaborate closely with engineering to enhance and maintain our Configure Price Quote tool.

• Convert customer needs into deal structures that are both commercially viable and operationally sound, understanding where to be flexible and where to stand firm.

• Navigate internal complexities by coordinating with Finance, Legal, Product, and leadership to ensure deals progress without being hindered by processes.

• Work in partnership with Finance to develop deal-level P&L models and relay pricing trends back to the business, influencing strategic pricing decisions at the leadership tier.

• Create and uphold pricing frameworks, discount guidelines, and approval policies that can scale alongside the business.

• Establish analytics and feedback mechanisms that identify bottlenecks in deal progression and implement solutions to address them.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in configuring and managing CPQ rulesets, price books, and approval processes.

• Background in finance or deal pricing within a company, or experience in investment banking or management consulting.

• Outstanding financial modeling, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Demonstrated history of process optimization or automation.

• Capability to make value-based decisions that reconcile business, financial, and legal priorities.

• Bonus: Familiarity with AI/ML industry pricing models and the competitive landscape.

• Experience in scaling deal desk processes within a high-growth setting.
