DBA, MySQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Participate in fast-paced development cycles to produce high-quality products.

• Engage in hands-on development of infrastructure and its maintenance.

• Oversee all databases within the organization, which includes development, staging, and production databases.

• Manage administrative aspects such as security, failover/replication, and optimization.

• Address design elements like table structures, indexing, and the design of queries and stored procedures.

• Implement products, workflows, best practices, and architectural standards.

• Review specification documents comprehensively to identify unique cases and scenarios.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams.

• Become the in-house authority on databases.

• Provide training for developers and QA personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years specifically as a MySQL DBA.

• Practical experience with DBA failover, security measures, optimization, and backup processes.

• Proficient in database design, testing, and maintenance.

• Capable of self-management and functioning independently as the sole DBA in the organization.

• Familiarity with a scripting language, such as Python or Bash.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and identify root causes.

• Essential: Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• Preferred: Experience with C++, specifically in calling MySQL from it.

• Knowledge of financial industry standards, including FIX protocol, FX trading, and familiarity with tools like Jira, SVN, and Jenkins.
