DB2 LUW Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Application Developers to design, implement, and test database modifications that meet the needs of our clients' business applications.

• Provide assistance to developers in SQL development, performance evaluation, and index recommendations utilizing various tools such as db2 explain.

• Offer proactive and advisory DBA services to our db2 client portfolio.

• Aid Database Administrators and Systems Administrators during the patching process for operating systems and database systems.

• Contribute to the development of documentation/SOPs and mentor offshore administrators.

• Availability to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.

• Design and strategize upgrades for a variety of db2 environments, including TSM, Pacemaker, and both on-premises and db2 RDS in AWS.

• Proven experience in planning, documenting, and executing upgrades and migrations, as well as setting up new database environments on db2 LUW v11.5, v12.1, and db2 RDS.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in IT, specifically as a db2 LUW Database Administrator.

• At least five (5) years of experience in managed service consulting and operating in a multi-client setting.

• Five (5) years of experience as a Database Administrator on DB2 LUW.

• Three (3) years of experience with Red Hat's Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Three (3) years of experience with at least one cloud technology, such as Azure or AWS.

• Three (3) years of experience in shell scripting.

• Professional certification from at least one cloud provider (e.g., AWS Certified Solution Architect).

• DB2 certifications from IBM and/or IDUG.

• Previous work experience related to IBM.
