Databricks Administrator – Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration, governance, and operational management of the Databricks environment.

• Manage and maintain Databricks workspaces, catalogs, schemas, and user permissions.

• Oversee Unity Catalog structures and assist with user provisioning.

• Establish and enforce operational standards for compute governance.

• Diagnose platform issues and leverage data engineering expertise.

• Provide guidance to governance teams on standards for curated data products.

• Collaborate with security and engineering teams to enhance monitoring and enforce policies.

• Assist in cost optimization initiatives and engage in platform design discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Databricks administration or platform engineering.

• 3+ years of practical experience managing Databricks in an enterprise setting.

• Extensive experience with Unity Catalog, workspace management, and permissions oversight.

• Hands-on data engineering experience using SQL, Python, or PySpark.

• Strong knowledge of Databricks security best practices.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud Databricks environments.

• Experience in implementing governance standards for data products.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
