Database Reliability Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Maintain a thorough understanding of data components, including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and leverage that knowledge to manage and automate well-configured clusters.

• Possess knowledge of operating databases within Kubernetes and managing container images.

• Create infrastructure services to assist the CrowdStrike engineering team in achieving a comprehensive DevOps model.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Customer Support to resolve urgent production issues, regardless of the time they arise.

• Ensure the safety, security, and availability of petabytes of critical business data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with configuration management tools, specifically Chef.

• Proficient in scripting using Python and Bash.

• Background in large-scale data stores employing technologies such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.

• Familiarity with extensive, business-critical Linux environments.

• Experience operating in cloud environments, preferably Amazon Web Services, GCP, and OCI.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both local and remote teams.

• Documented history of making sound decisions, particularly in critical situations.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

• A blend of confidence and independence, coupled with the wisdom to seek assistance from the team when necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering.
