This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• Continuously enhance the reliability and performance of the ClickHouse core.
• Develop and improve metrics and alerts for ClickHouse to proactively identify and prevent production issues before they impact customers.
• Investigate the most prevalent issues faced by customers in ClickHouse Core to determine the root causes, submit bug fixes, report issues, and propose enhancements.
• Improve incident response procedures and conduct post-mortem analyses for outages related to ClickHouse core, collaborating with support and Cloud teams to communicate effectively with affected customers.
• Plan, facilitate, and lead Chaos initiatives across Engineering teams based on internal priorities.
• Oversee on-call processes to address performance and reliability concerns, establishing best practices for escalation coordination to resolve issues and reduce customer impact.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, QA, or customer-facing engineering roles.
• Prior experience managing ClickHouse or other SQL databases in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of distributed database internals and SQL, with a particular emphasis on ClickHouse being a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in scripting with Shell or Python, along with the ability to read and comprehend C++ code.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• A proven ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate strong production debugging skills.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as part of a global team, viewing yourself as a partner with the business to collectively advance objectives.
