This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of data components, including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, applying this expertise to operate and automate well-configured clusters.
• Manage and operate databases within Kubernetes (K8s) environments, encompassing cluster orchestration, container image management, and workload deployment.
• Design and develop Kubernetes-native solutions for data services, including StatefulSets, persistent volumes, and resource management tailored for stateful applications.
• Create infrastructure services to assist the CrowdStrike engineering team in achieving a complete DevOps model.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Customer Support to resolve time-sensitive production issues, no matter when they arise.
• Ensure the safety, security, and accessibility of petabytes of critical business data.
• Proficiency in configuration management tools like Chef.
• Skilled in scripting with Python and Bash.
• Experience working with large-scale datastores employing technologies such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.
• Practical experience in operating and managing databases in Kubernetes environments, including container orchestration, StatefulSets, persistent storage, and resource optimization.
• Strong familiarity with Kubernetes tools and concepts: kubectl, Helm, YAML manifests, networking, storage classes, and cluster administration.
• Background in managing large-scale, mission-critical Linux environments.
• Experience working within cloud environments, preferably Amazon Web Services, GCP, and OCI.
• Proven capability to collaborate effectively with both local and remote teams.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, especially under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A blend of confidence and independence, coupled with the wisdom to seek assistance from team members when necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering.
