This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• The Expert ETL Data Engineer will be responsible for constructing data pipelines, developing data warehouse solutions, and creating analytics processing tools to make data accessible to all.
• Design and develop core components of the Business Intelligence platform, which encompasses Data Engineering, Data Quality, and the Data Catalog framework.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Architects, Engineers, and Data Scientists across the organization as necessary to comprehend customer needs, design prototypes, and enhance existing data services/products.
• Design and sustain data warehouse solutions that facilitate large-scale analytics processing.
• Develop scalable ETL data pipelines, incorporating substantial volumes of data from both internal and external sources.
• Create and maintain Data Engineering solutions that support a self-service BI Platform, working alongside BI Engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to grasp business success criteria, convert business requirements into technical specifications, and work with other Data Engineers to ensure project success.
• Demonstrate the ability to cultivate a high-performing data engineering team through an inspiring leadership approach.
• Be curious, detail-oriented, and a highly motivated self-starter, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively to devise innovative solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data, system, and performance issues efficiently.
• Participate in the production support on-call rotation.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, along with 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a Database Developer-related role will be accepted by the employer.
• Experience in Data Engineering development and support within the technology industry and public sector.
• Proven experience in building highly scalable Big Data solutions utilizing Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Proficiency in managing petabyte-scale data and optimizing ETL processes for enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Competence in programming languages such as SQL and Python for data analysis, machine learning model development, and automation scripting.
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, including designing data lakes on S3, executing ETL jobs on EMR, and managing data warehouses on Redshift.
• Experience with BI tools like Tableau and Alteryx for creating interactive dashboards, performing advanced data analytics, and generating business insights.
