Database Administrator, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SQL and NoSQL database platforms, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Design, implement, and sustain highly available and scalable database solutions that align with both business and technical needs.

• Monitor the performance of databases and proactively seek out optimization opportunities.

• Administer database servers while optimizing operating systems for database workloads.

• Define, implement, and enhance backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Manage the patching and upgrading processes for databases while ensuring continuous service availability.

• Deploy and maintain physical servers and containerized environments that support database services.

• Develop and uphold automation and configuration management solutions.

• Collaborate closely with software development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams across various business units.

• Lead database architecture planning and technical decision-making processes.

• Mentor junior database administrators and disseminate best practices throughout the team.

• Create and maintain internal procedures, operational documentation, and best practices.

• Adhere to internal procedures related to the use of company tools and equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Higher education degree, ideally in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Cybernetics.

• At least 5 years of experience in a comparable role.

• Strong knowledge in Linux systems administration.

• Extensive practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Proven ability to install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot complex database environments.

• In-depth understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

• Solid experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

• Familiarity with source control systems like Git.

• Basic networking knowledge and experience with network protocols.
