This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
• Document user issues, detailing definitions, solutions, and reporting.
• Suggest enhancements to training documentation, user manuals, and support workflows.
• Submit progressively updated documentation on a bi-weekly basis.
• Conduct daily health assessments of the database.
• Confirm and validate successful backups of the database.
• Proactively oversee assigned datacenter resources.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance activities outside regular hours.
• Identify root causes of database problems and create preventative measures.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement assigned Release Notices.
• Establish new servers and databases.
• Execute database upgrades, perform patch maintenance, and manage application releases.
• Act as queue manager by supervising incoming support tickets and distributing tasks.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and provide status updates.
• Guide and mentor new members of the database team.
• Recognize opportunities for infrastructure maintenance improvements.
• Create documentation for repetitive tasks related to Oracle database administration.
• Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Strong to expert proficiency in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
• Professional experience in developing, deploying, and supporting database systems in medium to large enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with the entire project lifecycle: design, development, implementation, and documentation.
• Experience in supporting Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Systems Management, configuration management, and electronic software distribution.
• Comprehension of enterprise scalability, economies of scale, and total cost of ownership.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies, TCP/IP networking, Active Directory, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Apache Tomcat, and Microsoft IIS.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and business communication capabilities.
• Must have or be eligible to acquire a Public Trust clearance.
• Must pass the pre-employment criteria of Cherokee Federal.
