Database Administrator – Cloud Platform, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Serve as a Database Administrator (DBA) for various clients, assisting with Database Migrations, High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, SQL and Windows Clustering solutions, Monitoring, Backup/Recovery solutions, and Performance Tuning, including addressing performance blockers.

• Oversee multiple long-term database projects utilizing Azure data services simultaneously.

• Capable of scoping, planning, implementing, and documenting/presenting solutions to clients.

• Provide cost-effective Azure platforms tailored to meet customer specifications.

• Collaborate with Development, Test, and Production environments to fulfill client requirements at each project phase.

• Assist in defining Security roles for various users within the environments and support the Azure Infrastructure team in provisioning data services in the Azure cloud.

• Manage client expectations concerning scope, budget, and timelines.

• Create high-quality project documentation and artifacts, including written case studies that detail use cases and project specifics.

• Act as an effective technical mentor to junior team members.

• Deliver complex projects on schedule and within budget, proactively identifying and mitigating potential gaps and risks.

• Enhance your expertise across a variety of tools and technologies.

• Cultivate a problem-solving culture that addresses issues through collaboration and partnerships within the organization.

• Support internal 3Cloud initiatives that promote advancements in data services design and techniques.

• Assist the Sales Team with Presales efforts to define scope estimates for most projects when bandwidth permits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in diverse customer environments.

• Must be exceptionally detail-oriented and self-motivated.

• Capable of producing high-quality documentation for both internal and external use.

• Several years of experience working with a major RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server), with preference given to extensive experience with Microsoft products.

• Experience in performing database migrations from various cloud platforms or on-premises to Azure.

• Moderate experience with OS clustering concepts and technologies.

• Knowledge of security roles and the implementation of database security.

• Advanced experience with HA/DR technologies, including Always On AG, Replication, Log Shipping, and Mirroring.

• Advanced experience with database objects and stored procedures.

• Advanced experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure solutions and the execution of their implementation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep or Terraform.

• Commitment to keeping up with the latest technologies and their potential impact on existing 3Cloud offerings.

• Understanding of the cloud ecosystem and emerging cloud technologies.

• Proficient in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and remediation techniques.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a virtual project team.
