Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support assigned applications to ensure they remain highly available.

• Provide both hands-on and remote troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance.

• Proactively identify application or system issues to enhance availability and performance.

• Maintain ownership of incidents through resolution to exceed application Service Level Agreements.

• Complete projects, collaborate with team members, and deliver status updates.

• Track issues and bugs with vendors, communicating as resolutions are implemented.

• Manage vendor relations, including system OS, software, and infrastructure upgrades; gathering quotes; creating investment proposals; and overseeing change management.

• Provide financial data for budgeting and assist in forecasting future spending requirements.

• Coordinate swift diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure issues impacting the production environment.

• Handle deadlines related to all host services implementations and conversion activities.

• Utilize troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues, collaborating with appropriate vendors as needed.

• Stay informed on security-related matters and assess their impact on Navanta, providing recommendations for security management and monitoring procedures.

• Generate and maintain virtual servers, perform cloning tasks and snapshots, and monitor performance for assigned systems and applications.

• Ensure the security of appliances, workstations, and servers for supported systems and software.

• Develop and verify backup strategies, documentation, and processes.

• Establish and validate replication/high-availability strategies, documentation, and practices.

• Prioritize the management of vulnerabilities in alignment with the Navanta vulnerability policy.

• Execute all responsibilities with a strong adherence to Navanta's change management policy.

• Monitor and report on systems’ performance and capacity.

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and support of company servers.

• Actively engage in special projects and strategic initiatives aligned with annual priorities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in application/system support.

• Proficiency in SQL and database administration is essential.

• Required working knowledge of Progress OpenEdge databases.

• Experience with Linux, Unix, or AIX operating systems is mandatory.

• Strongly desired: experience with Fiserv Precision.

• Experience with Fiserv Premier is a plus.

• Familiarity with the IBM i operating system is advantageous.

• Previous experience in the banking sector is a plus.
