Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee client and project engagements to evaluate requirements and establish database design strategies.

• Assess user needs and create technical specifications.

• Ensure optimal database performance, security, and data integrity.

• Design, develop, implement, and sustain database solutions.

• Streamline data processes and enhance reporting capabilities through automation.

• Monitor and improve database performance consistently.

• Manage production support tasks, including backup/recovery and archiving functions.

• Enforce database standards across projects.

• Maintain documentation and assess emerging technologies.

• Mentor junior team members.

• Support essential healthcare operations and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in database engineering, design, and development within enterprise environments.

• Extensive knowledge of SQL Server, including Always On Availability Groups (AOAG).

• Significant expertise in PostgreSQL, including Amazon Aurora.

• Proficient in AWS services, particularly RDS and EC2.

• Experience with database design methodologies and development in multi-tenant environments.

• Skilled in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.

• Strong capabilities in performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with tools such as SolarWinds DPA, SQL Query Store, pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

• Video cameras are required for all interviews and during the initial week of orientation.
