This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Engages in the design, implementation, and upkeep of software applications and databases utilizing various relational databases, client/server architectures, and object-oriented programming languages and tools.
• Employs different applications to sustain and refresh extensive databases, evaluates database architectures, and guarantees adherence to standards, procedures, and content consistency.
• Gathers, manipulates, analyzes, and distributes data effectively.
• Plans and coordinates the design and development of databases to ensure the creation of a precise clinical database.
• Establishes and manages the ODB environments catering to production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production requirements.
• Installs and oversees the administrative and monitoring tools required for optimal availability and performance of the Epic system.
• Comprehends performance metrics, monitors system efficiency, and resolves issues proactively.
• Administers logins for various access types, including login behavior and environmental configuration.
• Implements IRIS and Epic upgrades and updates to both production and non-production settings.
• Configures and sustains environment copies in line with the environment strategy.
• Addresses emergency and after-hours incidents promptly.
• Participates in capacity planning activities to ensure sufficient system resources.
• Works collaboratively with technical teams and Epic to provide proactive support.
• Develops and maintains scripts to enhance system management operations.
• Engages in change control processes for all scheduled application and technical endeavors.
• Maintains and tests procedures related to business continuity.
• Adheres to vendor and Epic best practices regarding hardware and software configuration.
• Serves as a member of the on-call rotation team.
• Certification in Operational Database Administration is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or a related discipline is necessary.
• Proficient in Unix skills using the command-line interface, including navigating directory structures and performing file manipulation.
• Understanding of operating system principles such as user and group ownership, file permissions, and file system/volume group configuration.
• Familiarity with a command shell (Korn, POSIX, Bourne, or C) and scripting languages and utilities such as awk, sed, and Perl.
• Capable of creating, understanding, and adhering to processes that ensure the successful execution of critical maintenance tasks.
• Annual mandatory education requirements set by the Joint Commission.
• In-service and health requirements, including participation in new employee orientation.
