This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and develop enterprise data solutions utilizing Databricks, Azure, and contemporary cloud data technologies.
• Lead the design of data engineering solutions employing Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture principles.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to teams involved in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and data platform deployment.
• Define and execute scalable data integration patterns and strategies for data movement.
• Establish, uphold, and advance architecture standards, coding practices, and engineering best practices.
• Implement and enforce data security frameworks utilizing Unity Catalog, RBAC, data masking, row-level security, column-level security, and least-privilege access models.
• Ensure data quality, monitoring, auditing, lineage, and governance capabilities throughout data solutions.
• Optimize Apache Spark workloads, Delta tables, and SQL queries for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Review technical designs and mentor data engineers and development teams.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, and reusable design patterns.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with business goals and enterprise architecture strategies.
• Work alongside Data Engineering, Analytics, Reporting, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, Technology, Data Governance, Security, business, product, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and application integration teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 8 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or related fields.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and SQL-based data solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Medallion Architecture, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience in designing and implementing secure, governed enterprise data platforms.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices, Git, automated testing frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proven capability to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale large-volume data pipelines and processing workloads.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated success in establishing technical standards and mentoring engineering teams.
• Azure and/or Databricks certifications are advantageous.
• Experience with MicroStrategy and Power BI is a plus.
• Familiarity with defining enterprise data architecture standards and governance frameworks is a plus.
• Experience in supporting large-scale cloud modernization and data transformation projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with enterprise-wide data quality, metadata management, and data lineage solutions is a plus.
