This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct advanced data analytics, encompassing statistical analytics, predictive analytics, machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and econometrics.

• Utilize both structured and unstructured data in diverse environments.

• Create impactful data visualizations that effectively convey insights and drive stakeholder decisions.

• Take ownership of the complete data science solution design, ensuring technical execution and measurable business impacts.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify business goals and define solution specifications.

• Develop, document, and implement custom code in Python, SAS, R, and other platforms to build predictive analytics applications.

• Use, maintain, share, and collaborate via Truist's internal code repositories.

• Investigate and promote the adoption of innovative data science techniques and technologies.

• Exercise sound judgment and manage risks throughout the design, development, and deployment processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding data usage policies, data governance, and analytical capabilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with no less than zero to four years of experience in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent education and training.

• Knowledge of statistical techniques, including classical statistics, probability theory, econometrics, time-series analysis, and fundamental statistical tests.

• Familiarity with linear algebra concepts for optimization, complex matrix operations, eigenvalue decompositions, and principal components analysis.

• Proficient in calculus/differential equations, with an understanding of stochastic processes.

• Comprehension of data cleansing and preparation techniques, including regex, filtering, indexing, interpolation, and outlier management.

• Strong experience with data extraction across various platforms, including SQL and JQuery.

• Practical knowledge of Hadoop, Pig, Hive, NoSQL, and/or Spark.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a team-oriented setting.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as needed.

• Minimal travel required, up to 10%.

• A Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field is preferred.

• Four years of pertinent work experience is preferred if the candidate does not hold a graduate degree.

• Prior experience in the banking or fintech sectors is preferred.
