This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• In the role of Associate Data Platform Engineering Manager, you will report to the Head of Data Engineering within our Data & Analytics - Data Platform Engineering team, leading a small but impactful team of 2-3 platform engineers while remaining actively engaged in hands-on technical tasks.
• Your responsibilities will be divided between people leadership—mentoring your team, driving agile delivery, and managing OKRs—and engineering activities.
• You will be responsible for designing robust Terraform/Terragrunt modules on GCP, advocating for data security measures (Dataplex, DLP), and creating standard, self-service developer tools that enable our downstream data teams to operate with confidence.
• Dual Track Experience: A minimum of 5 years in data platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering, with initial experience in leading, mentoring, or managing technical teams.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Extensive, hands-on experience with Terraform/Terragrunt for architecting and managing infrastructure, ideally on Google Cloud Platform.
• Advanced Platform Skillset: Proficient knowledge of GCP data services (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, GKE, IAM) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Platform-as-a-Product Mindset: A strong emphasis on customer enablement, platform reliability, system governance, and security.
• English Fluency: A minimum of professional English language proficiency (B2 level or higher) is required. This is essential as English is our company language used for all business communications, ensuring you can communicate effectively and feel integrated within Booksy.

• Modern Open-Source Tools: An open-source-first approach when researching, assessing, or developing internal platform tools.
• Next-Gen Architectures: Exposure to PySpark and open table formats (Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake).
• AI Integration: Experience or a strong interest in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude) and monitoring LLM-driven pipelines.
