Data Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Work in partnership with combatant commands to provide expert technical guidance for navigating the environment.

• Diagnose and resolve access-control challenges and issues related to missing Python libraries.

• Create and sustain Databricks notebooks and workflows.

• Assist in auditing engineering practices within the Embedded Support Division.

• Utilize Databricks, GitLab, and Confluence APIs to gather and analyze project activity data from development to deployment and ongoing usage.

• Support ESD leadership in researching, assessing, and implementing new features and tools.

• Integrate Jira and GitLab to enhance visibility into project operations.

• Investigate the deployment of GitLab on SIPR WDP for handling higher classification levels.

• Oversee the Central team’s GitLab repository and set standards for merge requests and code reviews.

• Establish and maintain GitLab-Databricks integrations along with a foundational CI pipeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with GitLab or GitHub for managing repositories, merge requests, and conducting code reviews.

• Advanced proficiency in Databricks, particularly in developing and maintaining notebooks and workflows.

• Skills in API development and integration with platforms such as Databricks, GitLab, and Confluence.

• Strong Python programming abilities.

• Capability to troubleshoot access control issues and resolve Python library challenges.

• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

• An active Secret clearance is mandatory.

• Willingness to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance is required.

• Familiarity with DevSecOps, Jira, and Confluence is a plus.
