This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Analyze and convert business requirements into supporting conceptual data models.
• Collaborate with development teams to create physical data models and implementation roadmaps.
• Establish best practices for data model development to maintain consistency.
• Ensure compliance of data models with data classification and governance objectives.
• Review data models within data systems for discrepancies, efficiency, and interoperability.
• Promote data models and align their application to support diverse business needs.
• Troubleshoot and enhance data models.
• Work closely with platform architects, product owners, and data analysts.
• Design models that minimize data redundancy, optimize data movements, and enhance enterprise information management.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• A minimum of five (5) years of practical experience in relational and dimensional data modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of metadata management and associated tools.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate edge cases that may occur in real data sets.
• Familiarity with software engineering / DevOps best practices, including source control, branching patterns, automated testing, and automated deployments.
• Ideally skilled in writing data transformations using code or through a GUI tool.
• Understanding of contemporary CI/CD practices and principles.
• Experience in Jenkins development is preferred.
• Strong grasp of DataOps principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to pass the necessary background check.
• Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, Alation, and Power BI is a plus.
• CBIP Certification is an advantage.
