Data Migration/ETL Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create and implement ETL processes and data pipelines utilizing approved schemas and standardized non-proprietary data and software practices.

• Generate client-specific obfuscated datasets that comply with data protection regulations and transfer them into non-production environments.

• Develop and carry out data migration test cases and scripts to validate completeness, accuracy, and readiness for go-live.

• Conduct migration dry runs in non-production settings, evaluate against minimum quality benchmarks, and enhance transformation logic as needed.

• Execute data cleansing and mapping in accordance with client data standards.

• Facilitate secure file ingestion through SFTP and encrypted transfers from legacy systems.

• Carry out production migration post-approval; assist with reconciliation and post-migration audits.

• Contribute to the development of data tables, data dictionaries, and validation testing against the Golden Data Test Set.

• Provide daily updates on data migration status during active migration phases.


⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• An active Public Trust level clearance is essential.

• A bachelor's degree is required; however, equivalent years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• 5–7 years of relevant experience is required; with 2 years in consulting preferred.

• Practical ETL development experience on enterprise-scale data migrations is necessary.

• Strong SQL and data transformation capabilities are a must.

• Experience in loading data into a cloud-based HCM or ERP platform is required.

• Familiarity with validation, reconciliation, and error handling in high-volume scenarios is essential.

• Preferred: Experience with Oracle HCM Data Loader (HDL) and HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader.

• Preferred: Experience extracting data from PeopleSoft HCM, Workday, or mainframe/COBOL HR systems.

• Preferred: Knowledge of federal HR data and familiarity with EHRI and federal records retention schedules.

• Preferred: Experience managing large volumes of PII under Privacy Act regulations.
