This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assist in managing the organization-wide Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), including chart corrections, duplicate merges, overlays, and various Data Integrity Analyst responsibilities for OhioHealth entities utilizing Epic (Care Connect).

• Support EMPI operations pertaining to Community Connect entities.

• Evaluate regulatory standards and state and federal regulations while addressing patient-record concerns.

• Manage multiple in-baskets and interface error queues to ensure precise documentation within the patient’s electronic health record (EHR).

• Execute duplicate merges, chart corrections, and resolve overlays.

• Diagnose data integrity challenges and guarantee each patient is assigned a single medical record number throughout OhioHealth systems.

• Oversee overlay reports and potential duplicate patient work queues; investigate and authenticate patient identity.

• Track chart correction cases and ensure timely follow-up for resolution.

• Investigate and resolve duplicates, overlays, and chart correction issues utilizing both internal and external resources.

• Analyze demographic and clinical information to ascertain accurate patient details.

• Identify corrective actions and alternative solutions for data integrity challenges.

• Inform downstream systems, departments, and external support personnel of any changes to data integrity or medical record numbers (MRN).

• Review and manage incoming electronic medical record messages or tasks associated with care coordination, privacy/security, and the integrity of protected health information.

• Respond to inquiries from external facilities and practices regarding health information exchange operations and support.

• Handle multiple critical tasks simultaneously with efficiency and precision.

• Present complex information regarding patient chart/data integrity and address questions throughout the organization.

• Work autonomously and cooperatively with minimal supervision.

• Complete necessary training and recertification.

• Provide after-hours/on-call support for urgent needs and coverage as necessary.

• Attend mandatory meetings and undertake other assigned responsibilities and projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree.

• RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification from the American Health Information Management Association.

• RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification from the American Health Information Management Association.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Integrity/EMPI data.

• Strong critical thinking, deductive reasoning, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with regulatory standards, state and federal laws, Joint Commission, the 21st Century Cures Act, and HIPAA.

• Proficient in data abstraction and computer skills.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple critical tasks simultaneously under pressure.

• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

• Proficiency in understanding and presenting complex patient chart/data integrity information.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision or guidance.

• Willingness to complete required training and recertification.

• Availability to provide after-hours/on-call support when needed.
