Data & Insights Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +16 more states.

📋 Description

• Strategize and implement data migrations between various data sources while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and minimizing downtime of data.

• Examine, organize, transform, and validate data in accordance with both business and technical specifications.

• Create and sustain database schemas, relationships, and data mappings for modernization and integration purposes.

• Assist in the end-to-end migration from legacy to modern platforms, which includes mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.

• Query, enhance, and troubleshoot databases; evaluate the structure, quality, and completeness of source and target data.

• Gather, cleanse, and analyze datasets within DAMIS and across Army personnel systems.

• Facilitate integration with external Army systems and enterprise platforms.

• Develop Appian dashboards, visualizations, and reports that showcase readiness and compliance metrics.

• Recognize trends, identify gaps, and highlight opportunities for process improvements in DAMIS workflows and reporting.

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, Scrum Masters, and Army stakeholders to establish data requirements, migration strategies, and execute sprints.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or 4+ years of relevant work experience in place of a degree.

• Over 5 years of experience in data analysis.

• Proven experience in planning and executing migrations between diverse data sources.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain data integrity, accuracy, and minimize downtime during migrations.

• Experience in analyzing, structuring, transforming, and validating data.

• Proficient in developing and maintaining database schemas, relationships, and data mappings.

• Experience supporting migrations from legacy to modern platforms, including mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.

• Background in database administration, including querying, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Preferably experienced with MariaDB; equivalent database administration experience is acceptable.

• Proven track record of collaborating with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements and migration strategies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Capability to obtain and maintain the necessary DoD Secret security clearance or other contract-required authorizations within the specified timeframe.
