📋 Description

• Build, lead, and expand the firm's Data Governance capabilities while acting as a hands-on delivery leader on client projects.

• Direct client governance initiatives, workshops, workstreams, and deliverables.

• Create repeatable Data Governance offerings, methodologies, accelerators, and solutions.

• Establish and enhance Databricks capabilities, solutions, partnership relationships, and revenue opportunities.

• Oversee enterprise Data Governance program roadmaps, priorities, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and success metrics.

• Manage daily operations of the Data Governance Office, maintaining project plans, Jira boards, issue logs, decision logs, risks, and action items.

• Provide program status updates and executive-level reporting.

• Design, implement, and operationalize enterprise Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, ownership models, and quality standards.

• Lead initiatives for metadata management, data catalog, business glossary, data dictionary, and data lineage.

• Establish Data Quality frameworks, dimensions, rules, thresholds, KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and issue-remediation processes.

• Establish and facilitate Data Governance Councils, working groups, and steering committees.

• Translate technical data issues into business risks, decisions, and executive recommendations.

• Coordinate with executive leadership, business units, data, analytics, security, legal, compliance, architecture, and engineering organizations.

• Align governance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, FERPA, regulatory, and security requirements.

• Drive organizational change, training, communications, stakeholder engagement, and the adoption of governance processes.

• Act as the Data Governance Lead on client projects and guide workstreams from discovery through implementation.

• Plan and facilitate client workshops and assessments; create future-state governance models and implementation roadmaps.

• Ensure client deliverable quality and completion; manage consultants and analysts.

• Deliver governance strategies, operating models, charters, roadmaps, stewardship models, domain frameworks, policy frameworks, classification standards, glossaries, quality frameworks, metadata and catalog strategies, lineage frameworks, RACI structures, councils, KPIs, and adoption plans.

• Develop packaged Data Governance consulting offerings, reusable methodologies, templates, accelerators, assessments, delivery frameworks, estimates, staffing plans, scopes of work, and intellectual property.

• Support sales opportunities, discovery sessions, proposals, RFP responses, demonstrations, executive meetings, and account expansion.

• Define Databricks go-to-market strategy and service offerings; build a $2M–$3M+ annual opportunity pipeline and sales target.

• Cultivate Databricks partner relationships and assist with Databricks-focused proposals, scoping, estimates, demonstrations, and presentations.

• Provide technical leadership for Databricks solutions, Lakehouse architectures, Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architectures, and AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.

• Advise clients on Unity Catalog governance and establish Databricks security, access, metadata, lineage, quality, sharing, and operational standards.

• Develop reusable Databricks reference architectures, accelerators, frameworks, methodologies, deployment patterns, and packaged offerings.

• Create internal training and certification strategies and mentor architects, engineers, consultants, and technical delivery leaders.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, or enterprise data programs.

• Proven experience leading enterprise Data Governance programs.

• Strong understanding of DAMA-DMBOK and DCAM frameworks.

• Experience establishing Data Owner and Data Steward operating models.

• Experience developing governance policies, standards, procedures, and controls.

• Experience with metadata, business glossaries, data catalogs, lineage, and data quality.

• Familiarity with Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or similar technologies.

• Strong knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and Lakehouse architectures.

• Experience with or strong knowledge of Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark, PySpark, SQL, and modern ETL/ELT architectures.

• Understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.

• Demonstrated experience leading client-facing consulting engagements.

• Ability to conduct executive workshops and facilitate complex stakeholder discussions.

• Experience managing cross-functional consulting and technical teams.

• Strong project and program management skills.

• Capability to manage multiple client engagements and internal practice initiatives simultaneously.

• Excellent executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Strong change management and organizational adoption capabilities.

• Experience developing consulting offerings and introducing new services to market.

• Experience supporting complex proposals, estimates, statements of work, and RFP responses.

• Proven ability to build client relationships and identify follow-on opportunities.

• Ability to develop and support $2M–$3M+ annually in Databricks and Data Governance-related sales opportunities.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Business, or a related field.

• Position requires flexibility to travel periodically based on business and client needs.
