Data Engineering Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead a small team of data engineers supporting dynamic newsrooms.

• Design and implement solutions that yield significant business results.

• Engage in and supervise the creation of data pipelines.

• Enhance Courier’s data infrastructure.

• Comprehend business requirements and convert them into value for stakeholders.

• Mentor data engineers and offer insights on architectural choices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Python development and debugging.

• Expertise in Data Pipeline management, including data modeling, orchestration, transformation, and large-scale query optimization.

• Demonstrated experience with REST APIs, web scraping, and innovative data acquisition methods.

• Understanding of public cloud management, particularly in billing and monitoring, with a preference for GCP.

• Basic knowledge of application architecture for delivering data in innovative ways.

• Training in Agile methodology is preferred.
