Data Engineer, SQL-focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate current SQL code, stored procedures, ETL jobs, and data transformations.

• Track data through established pipelines to comprehend the movement of information across the platform.

• Ensure that business rules are accurately applied within the current technical solution.

• Document data flows, transformations, table relationships, and technical dependencies.

• Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to confirm technical findings and facilitate discovery activities.

• Review existing data processes to verify system behavior and pinpoint implementation specifics.

• Assist in technical documentation by clarifying the operation of the current data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL, encompassing complex queries, CTEs, window functions, joins, and stored procedures.

• Experience with IBM DataStage or comparable enterprise ETL tools.

• Background in analyzing existing ETL processes, data transformations, and relational databases.

• Knowledge of data flows within enterprise data platforms and ETL pipelines.

• Capability to analyze and comprehend existing implementations rather than solely focusing on new builds.

• Familiarity with data modeling concepts and table relationships.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient at collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in data engineering or related fields.

• Experience in marketing or customer data environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with legacy systems or modernization projects is advantageous.

• Experience in creating technical documentation or engaging in discovery phases of data projects is a bonus.
