Data Engineer, SQL-focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Examine current SQL code, stored procedures, ETL jobs, and data transformations.

• Track data through existing pipelines to comprehend how information flows across the platform.

• Ensure that business rules are accurately reflected in the existing technical solution.

• Document the present implementation, encompassing data flows, transformations, table relationships, and technical dependencies.

• Work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to validate technical insights and assist in discovery activities.

• Review current data processes to verify system behavior and pinpoint implementation specifics.

• Contribute to technical documentation by offering insights into the existing data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient SQL skills, including advanced queries, CTEs, window functions, joins, and stored procedures.

• Experience with IBM DataStage or comparable enterprise ETL tools.

• Background in analyzing current ETL processes, data transformations, and relational databases.

• Understanding of data flows within enterprise data platforms and ETL pipelines.

• Capability to analyze and comprehend existing implementations instead of solely building new ones.

• Acquainted with data modeling principles and table relationships.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in collaborating effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in data engineering or related positions.

• Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English for clear communication.

• Nice to have: experience in marketing or customer data environments.

• Nice to have: familiarity with legacy systems or modernization projects.

• Nice to have: experience in creating technical documentation or engaging in discovery phases of data projects.
