Data Engineer, SQL-focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Review and analyze current SQL code, stored procedures, ETL jobs, and data transformations.

• Track data movements through existing pipelines to gain insights into information flow across the platform.

• Ensure business rules are accurately implemented in the current technical solutions.

• Document data flows, transformations, table relationships, and technical dependencies comprehensively.

• Work collaboratively with both technical and business stakeholders to validate technical insights and facilitate discovery activities.

• Assess current data processes to verify system behavior and pinpoint implementation specifics.

• Contribute to technical documentation by elucidating the operation of the existing data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL, encompassing complex queries, CTEs, window functions, joins, and stored procedures.

• Experience with IBM DataStage or comparable enterprise ETL tools.

• Background in analyzing existing ETL processes, data transformations, and relational databases.

• Knowledge of data flows within enterprise data platforms and ETL pipelines.

• Capability to analyze and comprehend existing implementations instead of solely focusing on new developments.

• Familiarity with data modeling principles and table relationships.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in data engineering or related positions.

• Experience in marketing or customer data environments is advantageous.

• Exposure to legacy systems or modernization projects is a plus.

• Experience in creating technical documentation or engaging in discovery phases of data projects is beneficial.
