Data Engineer – Migration Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Strategize and execute data migrations from legacy systems (VistA, Maximo, DMLSS) to contemporary platforms.

• Develop comprehensive data migration plans.

• Construct ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks utilizing PySpark and Spark SQL.

• Create ETL/ELT pipelines in VALIP.

• Author and uphold data mapping and validation plans.

• Reconcile and verify data accuracy following each load.

• Mask and sanitize production data for use in lower environments.

• Assist with data extraction and analytics inquiries.

• Aid in the decommissioning of data archives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in ETL, data migration, or database development (Mid / Level II).

• Proficiency in SQL and Python.

• Experience with PySpark or Spark SQL.

• Knowledge of data mapping, validation, and reconciliation processes for migrations.

• Experience with migrations from VistA, Maximo, or DMLSS (preferred).

• Familiarity with data masking techniques for lower environments (preferred).

• Understanding of HL7, FHIR, or EDI data formats (preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Certification as a Maximo Deployment Professional (required certification).

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer (required certification).

• Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer (required certification).

• Must be eligible to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance.

• Must be able to obtain a VA PIV credential.
