Data Engineer, Microsoft Fabric

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable Lakehouse and data warehouse solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse.

• Create, enhance, and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines along with reusable frameworks for the integration of various data sources.

• Execute data quality measures, validation, and transformation logic.

• Establish best practices in data engineering encompassing coding standards, governance, performance, and automation.

• Document models, pipelines, and operational runbooks effectively.

• Develop and refine dimensional and semantic models for business intelligence and analytics.

• Integrate a variety of source systems into the enterprise data warehouse.

• Ensure that workloads are scalable, reliable, efficient, and secure.

• Optimize SQL, Spark jobs, and overall pipeline performance.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational procedures.

• Address production incidents, diagnose root causes, and apply solutions.

• Identify gaps, suggest enhancements, and ensure completion of tasks.

• Implement API integrations and services as required.

• Translate stakeholder requirements into effective Lakehouse and warehouse solutions.

• Communicate updates, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Operate within Agile/Scrum methodologies, including planning, estimation, and demonstrations.

• Collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams.

• Conduct and take part in code reviews.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of practical experience in data warehouse/data engineering positions.

• Experience with Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Databricks in production environments.

• Proficient in SQL, along with Python and/or scripting for transformation, automation, and tooling purposes.

• Background in building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.

• Proven ability to deliver results within Agile/Scrum teams.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• A demonstrated sense of initiative, accountability, and dependability in delivering production data solutions.

• Preference for experience with healthcare data systems.

• Familiarity with the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) domain is preferred.

• Experience with C# for API integrations and services is preferred.

• Exposure to AI tools, including Azure OpenAI, Claude, and Cursor, is preferred.

• Experience collaborating with distributed or offshore teams is preferred.
