Data Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• The Data Engineer III acts as an emerging contributor within a team, enhancing leadership, guidance, and mentoring abilities.

• With support and direction from leadership, you will be tasked with achieving scope, schedule, and delivery objectives.

• You will engage with stakeholders and leverage your influence to enhance data engineering processes and practices.

• Constructs data infrastructure, pipelines, systems, and tools with minimal feedback and guidance from team members.

• Possesses an intermediate understanding of data management and the transformation of raw data into meaningful information.

• Capable of creating precise and accessible datasets for Data Analysts and Scientists to interpret and utilize.

• Responsible for the upkeep of data architectures and systems.

• Applies technical and communication skills to enhance contextual knowledge and mentor junior data engineers.

• Delivers presentations and writes about their work for both internal and external audiences.

• Engages in planning sessions to develop an understanding of data architectures and infrastructure.

• Aids in recruiting efforts by assessing homework assignments and potentially assisting with interviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Python / Apache Spark.

• Robust understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and distributed computing.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Strong grasp of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Relevant experience in analytic programming, data extraction, database/data warehouse querying, and data analysis.

• Bachelor's degree and over 5 years of experience.
