Data Engineer – French Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Engage in large-scale migration initiatives from Hadoop/Hive to Snowflake;

• Architect and construct ETL/ELT pipelines for both batch processing and near real-time data ingestion;

• Create scalable and optimized Snowflake data models and transformation processes;

• Utilize technologies such as Snowflake, SQL, Python, PySpark, Snowpark, Spark, and Databricks;

• Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security during migration efforts;

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders across global teams;

• Contribute to modernization efforts and cloud transformation programs;

• Assist in the ongoing improvement and optimization of enterprise data platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a Data Engineer role or a similar position;

• Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance optimization, and security implementation;

• Demonstrated experience in data migration and modernization initiatives;

• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with analytical databases;

• Practical experience with Dataiku or similar data integration tools;

• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and Snowpark;

• Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks like Spark or Databricks;

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;

• Capable of communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences;

• A team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability;

• Professional proficiency in French;

• Fluent in English;

• Must be a citizen of Portugal or Europe, or possess a valid work permit for Portugal.
