Data Engineer – Data Warehouse, ELT Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and construct a contemporary ELT architecture (Raw → Staging → Data Mart).

• Develop and sustain a structured data warehouse that includes clean transformation logic outside of the BI tool.

• Engage in data modeling within the warehouse (e.g., Star Schema, with considerations for Data Vault and SCD2).

• Implement versioned transformations utilizing dbt or similar tools.

• Create and manage stable, automated data pipelines (e.g., using Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster).

• Integrate both internal and external data sources (shop, ERP, CRM, marketing platforms, APIs).

• Ensure data quality, monitoring, and error handling within the pipeline architecture.

• Technically enhance the data platform concerning performance, scalability, and future cloud integration.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have previously constructed data warehouses or ELT architectures (Raw → Staging → Data Mart).

• You are adept with MS SQL Server and are comfortable with complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

• You model data in an organized manner (e.g., Star Schema, SCD2).

• You utilize dbt (or similar tools) to maintain transformation logic in a clean and versioned manner outside of the BI tool.

• You have experience with orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) and can build reliable pipelines.

• You routinely use Python for data processing and pipeline logic.

• You possess an understanding of tracking data (Google Analytics, Meta Ads) and can seamlessly integrate it into the data model.

• You use BI tools like Power BI in a practical manner.

• Proficiency in English at a B2 level (independent user) is sufficient for you.
