This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Play a crucial role in transferring insurance policy data from legacy administration systems to a contemporary policy administration platform.
• Engage in an analysis-driven role that incorporates data engineering elements.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of data, tracing and reconciling information across various data layers (databases and files).
• Create mappings and transformations to transition legacy data into the desired format.
• Address data quality challenges to ensure the delivery of validated loads.
• Leverage strong, practical expertise in SQL for data analysis, tracing, and transformation.
• Employ AI tools to enhance work efficiency.
• Receive guidance from a seasoned conversion manager.
• Navigate through the complete data migration lifecycle, from initial discovery to production cutover.
• Support iterative delivery cycles through effective communication.
• Strong practical command of SQL, which is the core skill for this position, enabling independent writing and reasoning through complex queries for data analysis, tracing, and transformation.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, including queries, views, stored procedures, CTEs, and window functions.
• Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Ability to build source-to-target data mappings and transformation logic.
• Familiarity with data validation and cleansing practices.
• Experience with cloud databases—specifically AWS: RDS, S3, and Secrets Manager.
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis and reviewing legacy data.
• Knowledge of GitHub/version control systems.
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum).
• Competence in securely handling sensitive financial data and personally identifiable information (PII).
• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants (such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) for development workflows, prompt engineering, and automated analyses.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
