This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.
• Design, construct, and uphold scalable Lakehouse and data warehouse solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse.
• Develop, enhance, and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines along with reusable frameworks for the integration of various data sources.
• Apply data quality, validation, and transformation logic throughout the pipelines.
• Establish best practices in data engineering encompassing coding standards, governance, performance, and automation.
• Create documentation for models, pipelines, and operational runbooks.
• Develop and refine dimensional and semantic models for business intelligence and analytics.
• Integrate multiple source systems into the enterprise data warehouse.
• Ensure that Lakehouse and warehouse workloads are scalable, dependable, performant, and secure.
• Optimize SQL, Spark jobs, and pipeline performance for cost-effectiveness and reliability.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational practices for data workflows.
• Address production incidents, investigate root causes, and deploy solutions.
• Identify gaps, suggest enhancements, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Execute API integrations and services as needed.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions.
• Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Operate within Agile/Scrum methodologies, including planning, estimation, and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams.
• Conduct and engage in code reviews.
• 2-5 years of practical experience in data warehouse or data engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Databricks in a production environment.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, along with scripting capabilities for transformation, automation, and tooling.
• Proven track record in building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and consistency in delivering production data solutions.
• Experience with healthcare data systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) domain.
• Proficiency in C# for API integrations and services.
• Exposure to AI technologies such as Azure OpenAI, Claude, and Cursor.
• Experience in collaborating with distributed or offshore teams.
