Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, maintain, and assist in the support of enterprise data integration and ETL/ELT solutions utilizing Talend.

• Construct data mappings, transformations, reconciliation processes, and reusable integration components.

• Design and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes using SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

• Manage and support the Talend Management Console and Talend Remote Engine.

• Schedule, oversee, troubleshoot, and resolve production data pipeline and integration challenges.

• Build scalable batch and near-real-time data pipelines.

• Design and integrate REST APIs utilizing Azure API Management.

• Ensure compliance with data quality, governance, metadata, lineage, security, and privacy requirements.

• Operate across development, testing, and production environments while adhering to established SDLC practices.

• Collaborate effectively with data engineers, architects, business stakeholders, platform teams, and vendors.

• Utilize AI and automation tools for code generation, testing, data analysis, documentation, and optimization of pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise data integration solutions.

• At least 3 years of experience with Talend Management Console/Talend Administration Center.

• Over 3 years of experience in installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Talend Remote Engine.

• A minimum of 2 years of production support experience for enterprise integration solutions.

• More than 4 years of experience working within a mature Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• At least 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, data analysis, automation, or enhancing development productivity.

• Preferred: 6+ years of experience in business/data requirements analysis.

• Preferred: 6+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience in building scalable ETL pipelines, implementing data quality measures, and working with cloud platforms.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in integrating RESTful APIs.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with message queuing technologies.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow and Azure-based data management integrations.

• Experience in data governance, metadata management, data classification, and data lineage.
