This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.
• Design, build, and ensure the scalability of the data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Lead the technical architecture of data pipelines.
• Optimize platform performance.
• Ensure data processing meets high standards of quality, security, and observability.
• Define reference architectures in GCP utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Manage and orchestrate services such as Dataform, Cloud Run, Workflows, Dataflow, and Composer (Airflow).
• Build and enhance ingestion and transformation processes (ETL/ELT) using Python and FastAPI.
• Lead data modeling in BigQuery and persistence in NoSQL databases (Firestore).
• Execute performance optimizations and large-scale migrations.
• Configure network security (VPC/VPN) and manage access strategies (IAM) under the principle of least privilege.
• Implement data contracts and monitoring systems.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to ensure agile and stable deployments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, or a related field.
• Preferred: Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification.
• Preferred: Specialization in Big Data, Software Architecture, or Data Science.
• 3-5 years of experience working as a Data Engineer.
• Proven experience designing and deploying complex architectures in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Solid experience implementing projects using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD automation.
• Expert proficiency in Python (data-focused/FastAPI), Advanced SQL (query optimization), BigQuery, and data modeling (Star/Snowflake).
• Familiarity with GCP ecosystem: Dataform, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Workflows, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Firestore.
• Infrastructure tools: Docker and Terraform.
• Security and Networking: Configuration of VPCs, VPNs, and IAM (Identity and Access Management) management.
• Governance: Implementation of Data Contracts and monitoring of data observability.
• Plus: Knowledge of Next.js and Fullstack development (Frontend/Backend).
