Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain efficient data pipelines within Snowflake from various sources.

• Establish and manage a medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers) for data lake solutions.

• Create data models that fulfill both business intelligence and artificial intelligence needs.

• Spearhead the evolution of a cloud-native data platform by integrating Snowflake with AWS.

• Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and convert them into technical specifications.

• Implement frameworks for data quality and monitoring systems to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets.

• Generate and maintain detailed documentation for data pipelines, models, and processes.

• Enhance query performance and resource utilization to minimize costs and improve processing times.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production data systems and address incidents.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience is required.

• 5+ years of practical data engineering experience in building production-scale data systems.

• Proficiency in Snowflake: warehouses, databases, roles, RBAC, Snowpipe, streams, tasks, and performance optimization.

• Strong command of SQL: complex queries, window functions, CTEs, query optimization, and database design.

• Programming skills in Python for data transformation, automation, and pipeline development.

• Experience with cloud platforms: Extensive knowledge of AWS data services and architectural patterns.

• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD: Git, GitHub/GitLab, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.

• Expertise in orchestration: Apache Airflow or similar workflow management tools.

• Excellent communication abilities to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries is preferred.

• Familiarity with data governance tools and frameworks is preferred.

• Experience with Snowflake engineering processes is preferred.

• Relevant certifications: Snowflake SnowPro Core and AWS Cloud Practitioner are preferred.

• Understanding of business intelligence, machine learning workflows, and AI practices is preferred.
