Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and implement stable, reliable, and efficient databases, data processing pipelines, and data streaming solutions.

• Optimize, maintain, and tune the performance of data systems.

• Adapt databases and streaming systems as per specifications and conduct thorough testing.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database usage issues and malfunctions.

• Collaborate with other developers to enhance applications and establish best practices.

• Collect user requirements and identify potential new features.

• Create technical documentation and training manuals.

• Offer data management assistance to users.

• Ensure that all database programs comply with company and performance standards.

• Investigate and recommend new database products, services, and protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in a comparable role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of data management, including permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.

• Familiarity with the software development life cycle.

• Practical experience with SQL.

• Proficient in data processing tools and the creation of data pipelines (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, cloud-native solutions).

• Experience with ETL tools, preferably Oracle Data Integrator.

• Knowledge of both relational (preferably Oracle) and non-relational databases.

• Experience with one or more major cloud providers (preferably AWS) and knowledge of SaaS/PaaS features.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins.

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform).

• Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault).

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Ability to comprehend front-end user requirements and a problem-solving mindset.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient command of English.

• Desirable: Understanding of business needs, experience in collaboration with business teams, gathering business requirements, and creating diagrams and documentation of mappings.

• Experience in performance tuning.

• Proficiency in Java or Python.

• Knowledge of user interface web applications.
