This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Create new ETL scripts utilizing Python to collect and validate data from various sources, including APIs and web scraping.
• Collaborate with our data engineering team to implement ETL scripts within our orchestrated data platform using Dagster and BigQuery.
• Assist in the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of current data pipelines.
• Ensure that our pipelines are developed following best coding and data practices.
• Contribute to maintaining Ember’s data quality and output at the highest standards.
• Minimum of one year of experience in developing and deploying Python code.
• Familiarity with SQL databases.
• Strong numerical and data literacy skills, with exceptional capabilities in data extraction and transformation.
• A discerning and selective approach to using AI coding tools, along with the ability to critically assess their outputs.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• Enthusiastic about clean energy initiatives.
• Motivated and eager to learn.
• Systematic with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to function effectively as part of a remote international team.
• Experience in developing data pipelines on orchestration platforms like Dagster (preferred), Airflow, dbt, or Prefect (nice to have).
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git (nice to have).
• Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure (nice to have).
• Capability to collaborate with business users to translate research inquiries into specific data requirements and develop solutions accordingly (nice to have).
• Additional language skills (nice to have).
• Previous experience in the power or clean energy sectors (nice to have).
• We offer a nine-day fortnight, allowing our full-time staff to have every other Friday off without any pay reduction.
