Data Conversion Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate data structures of legacy systems and conduct data profiling to uncover data quality challenges, gaps, and transformation needs.

• Facilitate data-driven workshops and sessions with client stakeholders to collect requirements, review mappings, and address data-related decisions.

• Interact directly with customers to clarify data structures, transformation logic, and migration results in a clear and actionable manner.

• Create and uphold comprehensive source-to-target data mapping specifications that align with Accela data models (e.g., records, contacts, parcels, ASI).

• Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes to transfer data into the Accela Civic Platform.

• Conduct data cleansing, normalization, and enrichment activities to guarantee consistency and accuracy before migration.

• Perform mock conversions and support iterative migration cycles, which include testing, validation, and resolution of issues.

• Develop and carry out data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the migrated data.

• Address data-related issues and collaborate with functional consultants and client stakeholders to rectify discrepancies.

• Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities concerning migrated data and confirm readiness for go-live.

• Take part in go-live cutover activities, which include final data loads and post-migration validation.

• Document migration processes, mapping logic, validation results, and lessons learned to promote repeatability and continuous improvement.

• Show curiosity and initiative by utilizing AI-assisted tools and automation to enhance data migration processes, including mapping, validation, documentation, and repeatable frameworks.

• Contribute to the establishment of data migration best practices, tools, and templates within the Professional Services organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in data migration, data conversion, or ETL-related roles in enterprise software implementations.

• Proficient SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).

• Practical experience with data mapping, transformation, and validation processes.

• Proven track record in designing and executing ETL workflows, including the extraction, transformation, and loading of large datasets.

• Demonstrated capability to lead client-facing discussions, workshops, or working sessions and effectively engage with stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining technical data concepts to non-technical audiences and guiding decisions with customers.

• Established ability to analyze complex data structures and convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Significant experience with data validation and reconciliation techniques to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address data quality issues.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including functional consultants, developers, and client stakeholders.

• Background in SaaS or enterprise application implementations (experience in government/public sector is preferred).

• Willingness to adopt and utilize AI-assisted tools, automation, or modern data technologies to enhance delivery efficiency and scalability.
