This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Identify, evaluate, and collaborate with both domestic and international structural engineering vendors as well as local certifying engineers.
• Ensure that vendors are capable of delivering structural analysis, design, and certification that adheres to the relevant local building regulations.
• Oversee early-stage structural due diligence for new locations.
• Assess seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions while mapping local code and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
• Create and sustain standardized structural designs for MDC components, which include raised platforms, ISO container connections, foundations/pads, anchorage, and piping supports.
• Conduct in-house structural analysis and design for new products and unique site conditions.
• Act as the structural point of contact between product engineering, fabricators, general contractors, and local structural/civil engineers.
• Review shop drawings, anchoring/embedment details, and equipment integration to ensure that construction aligns with certification requirements.
• Develop and maintain structural requirement guidelines, site-readiness checklists, and certification workflows.
• Monitor outstanding structural items and provide the final approval for certified, safe, and operationally ready MDC sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE or SE) license or its international equivalent, such as Chartered Engineer.
• 5–7 years of practical experience in structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures, including foundations, platforms, and equipment anchorage.
• Capability to independently conduct structural analysis and design in-house for new products and site conditions.
• Proficient understanding of structural analysis/design software and building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Ability to navigate comparable international structural codes, such as NCC and Eurocode.
• Familiarity with seismic, wind, snow, and soil load conditions.
• Comfort in operating with a significant degree of independence.
• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 20–30% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and construction locations globally.
