This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Function as a “grid-to-GPU” power train technical architect for hyperscalers and colocation data centers.

• Serve as GEV’s primary customer-facing technical expert for AI training campus and hyperscale data center projects.

• Develop and manage GEV Campus Power Reference Architectures utilizing GEV products.

• Create and document single-line diagrams and power system designs for various data center archetypes.

• Lead technical discovery sessions with engineering teams from hyperscaler data centers.

• Record power requirements, site limitations, and competitive installations.

• Draft technical proposals and power system studies, including load flow analysis, fault analysis, and arc-flash studies, for RFP submissions.

• Collaborate with NPI/PM teams to ensure new product designs align with actual customer power systems.

• Conduct quarterly internal technical training for the COE business development team and BU sales.

• Represent and promote GEV standards in OCP, Nvidia, and other pertinent organizations.

• Build and maintain customer case studies and reference designs for proposals and marketing efforts.

• Produce detailed competitive analysis.

• Act as a center of competency for data center infrastructure design and operations/maintenance throughout the entire lifecycle.

• Share knowledge within the GEV technical community.

• Lead roadmap development, optimization, and total cost of ownership planning and analysis.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience as a data center power train architect at a hyperscaler, colocation provider, or leading OEM supplier.

• Significant experience in hyperscale environments.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including both domestic and international travel.

• Experience in designing, peer-reviewing, and/or operating/maintaining electrical systems for at least one hyperscale AI training campus of 500 MW or more.

• Proficiency with AC/DC power train and distribution architecture, particularly 800VDC.

• Familiarity with MV/LV switchgear and distribution architectures and equipment.

• Experience with MV/LV UPS systems and solid-state transformers.

• Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems.

• Understanding of source/load power quality issues and solutions.

• Awareness of system TCO and design trade-offs.

• Familiarity with relevant standards, protocols, and practices from Open Compute Project, Nvidia/AMD, IEEE, NEMA, UL/IEC, ASHRAE, and Uptime/TIA.

• Experience with infrastructure facility monitoring, telemetry, and AI training and inference workload profiles.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if necessary.

• Preferred: experience in designing facility cooling and liquid cooling at the rack.

• Preferred: real-world Uptime/reliability standards and compliant implementations.

• Preferred: familiarity with grid and islanded/microgrid architecture.

• Preferred location in a major U.S. data center market, particularly in the Pacific Time Zone, including the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle.
