This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the technical architect for the "grid-to-GPU" power train for hyperscalers, including AI training, AI inference, and general-purpose cloud, as well as colocation models (both AI-centric and general tenancy).
• Possess extensive knowledge of the industry's transition to 800V DC architectures.
• Serve as GEV's chief customer-facing technical expert for all AI training campus and hyperscale data center opportunities.
• Exhibit a strong customer presence and confidence in solution architecture.
• Create and manage GEV "Campus Power Reference Architectures," with experience in designing and documenting single-line diagrams and power systems for each data center archetype using GEV products.
• Lead technical discovery meetings with hyperscaler data center engineering teams, documenting power requirements, site limitations, and competitive installations.
• Draft technical proposals and conduct power system studies (load flow, fault analysis, arc-flash) to support RFP responses.
• Collaborate with the NPI/PM team to assess new product designs against actual customer power systems, including system design, sizing, and integration.
• Facilitate internal technical training sessions for the COE BD team and BU sales (minimum quarterly) focused on data center power architecture.
• Represent and advocate for GEV standards within OCP, Nvidia, and other relevant organizations (joint role with Standards Liaison).
• Build and maintain a repository of GEV data center customer case studies and reference designs for proposal and marketing use.
• Assist in creating detailed competitive analyses.
• Act as a center of competency for data center infrastructure design and operations/maintenance with a full lifecycle perspective and knowledge.
• Share expertise within the GEV technical community.
• Provide guidance on roadmap, optimizations, TCO planning, and analysis.
• Willingness to travel, particularly within North America and the EU, as well as other locations.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in data center power train architecture with hyperscalers, colocation, or top-tier OEM suppliers, emphasizing extensive hyperscale experience.
• Availability to travel up to 30% of the time, both locally and internationally.
• Must have directly designed, peer-reviewed, and/or operated or maintained electrical systems for at least one hyperscale AI training campus (≥500MW).
• Experience required in: AC/DC (especially 800VDC) power train and distribution architecture, MV/LV switchgear and distribution architectures and equipment, MV/LV UPS, solid-state transformers, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Power Quality issues and resolutions, and System TCO/design trade-offs.
• Familiarity with relevant standards, protocols, and practices including Open Compute Project, NVidia/AMD, IEEE, NEMA, UL/IEC, ASHRAE, and Uptime/TIA.
